The graphic art exhibition Discovered Losses by Aistė Ramūnaitė
The exhibition discloses an intriguing personal story about the artist‘s experiences, the Kaunas city and about something that lies beyond this world - a mystical, mythic character – goblin which also lives in Kaunas.
The main part of the exhibition reflects the formation and presentation of the goblin as an image of modern folklore. Alongside, characteristic features of the old town of Kaunas are revealed: by means of imagination, in a new and creative way, according to our country's political, historical and cultural features.
Between black and white there is a limit beyond which you can turn into a goblin. And what is he doing the whole year round, protecting our beloved and unique city Kaunas, the stories and legends of which will be significant for all the generations to come?
The author‘s graphics is more colourful than painting. Colour itself becomes a character, interacts with the other one like two or more friends having met in Laisvės alėja (the Liberty avenue).
Exhibition works: 09 03 2017–09 04 2017
